PROJECTED
OVERSPENDING OF 2010 BUDGET
Even though
there were
pleas to cut the 2010 budget in December 2009, January, and February
2010 by
Commissioners Cox and Patrick, Bernard, Hill, and Pennamon were
convinced they
knew better and the county would have plenty of money and there was no
need to
cut the budget. As shown on
the handout given in the meeting there is a projected
$365,661 shortfall according to the financial consultant and the CFO,
both of who
attended the meeting. Commissioner
Bernard reminds the others every chance he gets that he had nothing to
do with
the 2010 budget. Watch

Maybe Comm. Bernard thinks no one remembers how he was very vocal at
the budget
hearings in February 2010 that the budget did not need to be cut and he
would
not make cuts. He voted in March 2010 to
set the 2010 budget at the same as 2009.
Both Comm. Cox and Comm. Patrick voted against the
2010 budget because they
felt it was set too high.

“There
will be plenty of money….there’s NO need to cut….no
need to
raise the millage rate in 2010”—Jack Bernard
