THE
LATEST ROAD DEAL MAKING--
THE
NEXT PART OF JACKSON LAKE RD. WILL COST HOW MUCH?
Patching
Jackson Lake
Rd. for 2.25 miles will cost over $280,000
of county money and the State will give the county $145,000. Patching all of Harvey Lane Rd. will cost
$20,000 of
county money and the State will give the county $110,000.
The county does not have this money and as
Comm. Pennamon points out it will take
all contingency funds for 2 years.
To
get this passed Comm. Hill made a deal to vote for it so he could get a
road in
his district paved with county funds and no state dollars.
There
were also questions by Comm. Patrick
about not getting bids for over $300,000 of paving.
The Public Works director said they could,
but the quote he got was a good quote and he didn’t think the
county should get
bids.

TWG has now learned that there will have to be bids for
these
projects.
